WASHINGTON, DC— U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, released the following statement after chairing the Senate Foreign Relations hearing on the nomination of Joe Torsella to be the U.S. Representative to the UN for Management and Reform:

I support his confirmation to serve our country at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations because I believe that he has background to enhance our active U.S. presence at the UN by ensuring that our tax dollars are spent wisely.
