Health Care Reform: The Time Is Now
Congress has been hard at work in recent months debating health care reform. The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), of which I am a member, successfully reported out our bill, the Affordable Health Choices Act, on July 14. At its core, this landmark bill will stabilize health care costs, provide secure choices for American families, and ensure quality care for all Americans, while maintaining health insurance options that currently exist and that individuals may wish to keep. My colleagues in the House of Representatives have also been at work drafting health care reform legislation, the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.
