Increase in Funding for Byrne/JAG Program Will Be Part of Senate Budget
Washington DC- U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the U.S. Senate has passed his amendment to increase law enforcement funding as part of the Senate budget. The measure, which passed the Senate unanimously, will increase funding for law enforcement across Pennsylvania, allowing them to dedicate additional resources to crime fighting. Senator Casey’s amendment was cosponsored by Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA)
“Funding these law enforcement programs will put more cops on the beat and ensure that our officers have the equipment they need to keep Pennsylvanians safe. It is critical that we provide our law enforcement officers resources to do their jobs.”
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) Program supports crime fighting innovation and has helped local law enforcement agencies across the Nation ensure immediate and thorough responses to crimes.
