WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded $67,994 to Ramey Fire Engine Company # 1 for operations and safety.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep our communities safe,” said Senator Casey. “This money will help provide the firefighters of Ramey Fire Engine Company # 1 with the gear, training and equipment they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”

Federal funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG) which aims to strengthen the Nation’s first responders’ ability to protect the health and safety of the public as well as the responders’ themselves. This is the 13th round of AFG grants for Fiscal Year 2010.
