WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey announced today that the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) has been awarded $725,440 in federal funding by the U.S. Department of Transportation for the purchase of three new buses.

“I am pleased that Erie is receiving funding to purchase new buses,” Senator Casey said.  “With these funds, the Metropolitan Transit Authority will be able to continue to provide Erie citizens with efficient and reliable transportation services.”

The EMTA will use the funds to purchase three replacement buses to be used for fixed route service. These vehicles will replace three buses that have reached the end of their useful service life.
