Washington, DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) congratulated Comcast on their development of the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center, which will be located in Center City Philadelphia. In addition to making the city a hub for media and technology advancement, the center will bring thousands of permanent jobs to Philadelphia and Pennsylvania in the coming years.

“Comcast’s new center is further proof that Philadelphia is one of the world’s leading cities for innovation,” said Senator Casey.  “This project will bring thousands of jobs to Southeastern Pennsylvania in various sectors. I look forward to the new developments and possibilities the Innovation and Technology Center will bring to Philadelphia.”

According to some estimates, the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center will generate a great deal of economic activity during the project’s construction period alone, including $2.75 billion in economic activity within the Commonwealth and the creation of more than 20,000 temporary jobs.  The center is estimated to create almost 4,000 permanent jobs within the Commonwealth and 2,800 new permanent jobs within the City.  The project will also produce an estimated $30.7 million in annual Commonwealth tax revenues and $21.5 million in annual City tax revenues.
