Casey Congratulates Donora Native Stan Musial on Being Awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom

WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today released the following statement congratulating Stan Musial, a native of Donora, Pennsylvania, on being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Stan was presented with the award by President Obama at a ceremony today at the White House.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Stan Musial on being awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom.  Stan is truly a baseball legend and a model citizen.  Stan the Man deserves praise not only for his success on the baseball field, but also for his commitment to his community.  As a Pennsylvanian, I’m proud that Stan, a native of Donora, Pennsylvania in Washington County, has earned the country’s highest civilian honor.  Congratulations to Stan, his wife of 70 years, Lil, and the entire Musial family.”
