WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement after the Senate passed the FAA Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act:

“This legislation will improve safety for air travelers and provide needed investments that will improve airport infrastructure and protect and create jobs.  Legislation that I supported to address safety concerns highlighted in the crash of Continental Flight 3407 in Buffalo last year was incorporated in the legislation passed by the Senate today. The Families of Flight 3407, including the families of two victims from Pennsylvania, were instrumental in securing passage of these safety improvements.”

Senator Casey was a cosponsor of the Enhancing Flight Crewmembers' Training Act which was incorporated into the FAA reauthorization bill.
