WASHINGTON, DC- After President Bush commuted the prison sentence of I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement:
This President and his Administration act like they are above the law. Now the President has given Scooter Libby a literal get-out-of-jail free card after he was convicted by a jury of lying to investigators. This decision by President Bush erodes confidence in our system of justice and shows that there are separate rules for the powerful in DC.”
