WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Arlen Specter announced today that the Departments of the Treasury and Energy will award Pennsylvania projects $101,366,626 in federal funding for clean energy production. Federal funding has been allocated through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“I am pleased recovery funding has been awarded to Pennsylvania clean energy projects,” said Senator Casey. “The development of clean energy projects will not only help protect our environment, but also encourage the creation of jobs. This is another example of how the Recovery Act is encouraging job growth both in Pennsylvania and across the country.”

“I am pleased to see stimulus funds at work to help Pennsylvania’s clean energy initiatives,” Senator Specter said. “This funding will create jobs, invest in our country’s long-term energy needs and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.”

The funding is a portion of the more than $3 billion allotted in the ARRA to provide cash assistance to energy production companies in place of earned tax credits. As a result of this broader ARRA funding for clean energy projects, thousands of Americans will have access to jobs in the renewable energy industry, both in construction and in manufacturing.

Pennsylvania projects receiving funding are:
