In Wake of Accident, Senator Pushed State to Quickly Get Aid Out the Door

Washington, DC- In the wake of a fiery tanker crash that caused delays on I-81 for days, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the Department of Transportation is sending $2 million in emergency funding to the state for repairs. In the wake of the crash, Senator Casey sent a letter to the Administration urging them to quickly move to aid the state in a rebuilding effort.

“I’m pleased that the U.S. Department of Transportation has moved quickly to aid Pennsylvania,” Casey said. “I urged the Administration to approve aid for the state without delay so we could begin the work of rebuilding I-81. I-81 is a critical part of our state’s transportation infrastructure and economy.”
