Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement in response to the Administration’s decision to roll back protections that ensure a woman’s access to birth control:

"Denying women access to birth control is wrong and that's exactly what the Trump Administration did today. An employer has no right to deny a woman access to birth control. This order is an insult to women. As it related to religiously affiliated institutions, the original order was imperfect, but allowing a private employer to deny a woman access to birth control treats women like second-class citizens. I was a cosponsor and voted in favor of the 'Not My Boss' Business' bill, which prevents private employers from taking actions that undermine a woman's right to birth control. Congress should come together in a bipartisan way and reject this order."
