Casey Statement on Anniversary of Allentown Pipeline Explosion

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA)  released the following statement on the one year anniversary of the pipeline explosion in Allentown:

“A year after the explosion, work still remains to ensure the safety of Pennsylvanians living near pipelines. While I’m pleased that Congress passed a pipeline safety bill with language I pushed for to address the replacement of aging cast iron pipes, the Public Utilities Commissions must designate all possible resources to hold utilities accountable for replacing the most dangerous pipes in the system. I will never forget the tragic scene in Allentown in the days after the explosion, and I will continue to push pipeline owners to address safety concerns in a swift and transparent way to give peace of mind to Pennsylvanians.”
