WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, released the following statement on the one year anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden:

“One year ago, our brave servicemembers and intelligence officials delivered justice with the death of Osama bin Laden.  Today we recognize their courage and valor and recognize the sacrifice of so many servicemembers and civilians in the years since September 11th.  Osama bin Laden’s death was a key turning point in the U.S. effort to confront terrorism, but extremists around the world continue to target U.S. interests around the world and we must continue to remain vigilant in the face of those threats.”
