WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement in response to the Army Corps’ decision to speed up the timetable for a plan to combat Asian Carp:

“I’m pleased that the Administration has agreed to speed up the timetable for a plan to combat Asian Carp. I urged the Administration to take this step because Asian Carp presents a real threat to Erie’s economy and livelihood. I supported a bill, the Stop Invasive Species Act, that would require the speedy creation of an action plan to block Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes through a number of rivers and tributaries across the Great Lakes region.”
