Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Bob Casey, lead sponsor of the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE), released a statement following Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos’ move to undercut campus sexual assault protections.

"Secretary DeVos and this Administration have betrayed the victims of campus sexual assault with this decision. This decision is not just a betrayal of the victims of campus sexual assault -  it also discourages future victims from coming forward and seeking assistance. The Department of Education's reckless action will make it harder for schools to hold violent perpetrators accountable and is an inappropriate reversal of the progress we have made in the last several years."
