WASHINGTON, DC— U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement ahead of President Obama’s visit to Pennsylvania today to deliver a back-to-school address at the Masterman School in Philadelphia:

“I applaud President Obama for choosing to deliver his back-to-school speech in Pennsylvania.  Reinforcing the importance of education and hard work is a vital message for our children.  It is also an important message for policymakers to hear as decisions are made about investing in our future and the economy.

“I regret that I can’t be with him today because of votes in Washington on legislation to increase lending for small businesses to help them expand and create jobs.  I look forward to seeing the president in Pennsylvania again soon.”
