Washington DC- U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed the student loan bill by a vote of 81-18:

"I'm pleased that Democrats and Republicans came together on a bipartisan compromise that will prevent interest rates on federally supported student loans from doubling. While imperfect, I felt it was important to move forward on legislation that would give students and families certainty for the coming school year."
