Casey is the first member of the 2006 class to reach 1,000 votes

WASHINGTON, DC- U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) has now cast over 1,000 floor votes in the Senate.  He is the first member of the Class of 2006 to reach that mark and he is the only member of the class to have not missed a vote since arriving in the Senate.

“It is a privilege to serve the people of Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate at this crucial time for our country,” said Senator Casey.  “My top priority is making sure Pennsylvania’s interests are represented in the Congress and with the White House; whether it is getting our fair share from the appropriations process, through the Recovery Bill or during debate on health care reform, climate change legislation or providing a safety net for unemployed workers and creating new jobs.”

Nine other senators were elected in 2006.  Senator Casey also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs and Chairman of the Production, Income Protection and Price Support Subcommittee of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee.
