Senator Pushing for Assistance for Residents and Business Owners

TUNKHANNOCK, PA - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today visited the Wyoming County Emergency Management Agency for a briefing on the County’s flood response and toured flood damage in the borough.

“The federal government has an important role to play in providing support to our communities,” said Senator Casey. “I am committed to helping residents and businesses in Wyoming County recover as quickly as possible.”

Senator Casey was joined by Wyoming County Emergency Management Coordinator Eugene Dziak, Wyoming County Commissioner Judy Mead, Wyoming County Commissioner J. Stark Barton II and Mayor Norman Ball.

Senator Casey has urged President Obama to quickly approve Pennsylvania’s request for additional assistance for counties hit by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, including Wyoming County.

Senator Casey is also urging the U.S. Small Business Administration to lower interest rates on disaster relief loans to make it easier for businesses to reopen, rehire and recover lost revenue.
