Washington DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement after his meeting with Major General Tod D. Wolters, Director, Legislative Liaison, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, to make the case for keeping the 911th open.  The directorate is the liaison between the Air Force and Congress on issues such as legislative and constituent inquiries, programs and weapons systems.

“Today, I urged the Air Force to protect the 911th Airlift Wing.  This installation has an incredibly skilled workforce that bolsters our national defense and saves the Pentagon money in the long run. I made it clear to Major General Wolters that an effort to close the 911th is not an acceptable outcome, and that I will continue to strongly advocate on behalf of this important installation, not only for Pennsylvania but for our national security.”
