Chester, PA

As the end of the school year approaches in Pennsylvania, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) will head to Chester’s nonprofit grocery store, Fare & Square, operated through Philabundance to call on his colleagues in Congress to do more to support young children and families who face food insecurity and stop their attacks on programs like WIC and SNAP that keep PA families from hunger.

Chester, PA was considered a food desert until three years ago when Fare & Square opened its doors offering the area’s first grocery store in 10 years and providing local families access to affordable, healthy foods.

Casey, joined by Fare & Square Vice President of Operations Mike Basher, Philabundance Executive Director Glenn Bergman and regular Fare & Square shopper Darren Bryant, will give brief remarks followed by a tour of the store.
