WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today announced that construction on the long awaited Moon Township Commissary project will begin with a groundbreaking on August 17.

“It was a long fight to get to the point but I’m thankful that construction will soon begin on the commissary,” Senator Casey said. “The military community of Southwestern Pennsylvania will soon have convenient access to the services they otherwise would have had to drive 400 miles to reach. I’m hopeful for a swift construction process to honor the brave Americans for which this facility is being built.”

Senator Casey has worked with the Pennsylvania congressional delegation to make the Commissary a reality in number letters, meetings, and through the legislative process.
