WASHINGTON, DC— U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today announced that after years of discussions and advocacy he has received a commitment from the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) to proceed with the relocation of the Post Exchange currently operated at the Charles E. Kelly Support Facility in Collier Township near Oakdale, PA to Moon Township.  Within the relocated Post Exchange, eligible military personnel and their families will have access to discounted retail goods, Class VI (liquor), and military clothing sales items.

“I am pleased that AAFES has committed to continue services for our veterans and military in the region,” said Senator Casey.  “Our military and families deserve to receive the necessary Morale Welfare Recreational services provided by AAFES. The commitment to relocate the Commissary, by the Defense Commissary Agency (DECA), and now the Post Exchange (PX) by AAFES, will better service our military and support the 168,000 eligible members of the military community in our Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia region.”

The Post Exchange will relocate their Morale Welfare Recreational (MWR) services to be alongside the relocated Commissary in Moon Township, adjacent to the U.S Army Reserve’s 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command Headquarters at the McGarity Army Reserve Center.

Senator Casey has advocated for the relocation of the Post Exchange since his first days in office privately and publicly, most recently in a March letter to the Senate Armed Services Committee, which has jurisdiction over final approval of the Commissary relocation project.
