Additionally, Dubois Airport set to receive $96,081

With this funding, University Park Airport has received nearly $22.1 million in federal funding since the start of 2021; Dubois Regional Airport has received more than $840,000

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and John Fetterman (D-PA) are announcing that University Park Airport is receiving $5,452,959 in new infrastructure funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Additionally, Dubois Regional Airport is receiving $96,081. These grants are awards from the Airport Improvement Program (AIP).

“Central Pennsylvania’s airports connect the region to the rest of the world,” said Senator Casey. “Improving taxiways will make these two airports safer and more efficient. A safe, effective airport means a better experience for travelers and greater investment in the Central Pennsylvania’s economy.”

“I’m very proud that this federal funding is going towards the Dubois and State College Regional Airports,” said Senator Fetterman. “This funding, combined with additional investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is making sure airports across Pennsylvania can serve our local communities. It’s an honor to join with my colleagues to announce this important funding.”

The funding for University Park Airport will be used to rehabilitate the airport’s taxiway. The airport has received a total of $22,083,283 in federal investments since the start of 2021. Dubois Regional Airport has received $841,081 in the same period of time. Their latest award will be used for taxiway and apron pavement improvements.
