In 2014, Casey Called for Release of FIFA Corruption Report
Washington, DC- U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following reports of multiple indictments against FIFA officials. In 2014, Casey called for the release of a corruption report regarding FIFA that was being undertaken by a former U.S. prosecutor.
“These allegations are deeply troubling and strengthen the case for full scale reform within FIFA. The reports raise serious doubts about the process that awarded the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. The U.S. presented strong bids and now it appears that those bids may have been undercut by a rigged process.”
