Washington DC- U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released a statement following the announcement that President Obama will issue an executive order on overtime protections for workers.

“This executive order will have a substantial impact on wages for families across Pennsylvania and the nation. With this executive order the overtime income threshold will be brought into line with historic levels. In January, I urged President Obama to issue this executive order because too many Americans are working longer and harder without the overtime pay they earned. Over the last decades Americans are working longer hours and their productivity has increased dramatically yet wages haven’t risen. Raising wages for our nation’s workers, whose productivity is increasing, is one of the keys to giving all Americans a fair shot in today’s economy.
